Dree Hemingway is the great grand daughter of Ernest Hemingway, and the daughter of Mariel Hemingway and Stephen Crisman. Her modelling career debuted with campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch and DKNY. During Spring/Summer 2010 Dree was known as the rising star. She posed for Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Gianfranco Ferre at the age of 22. Her catwalks for each season include the likes of Twenty8Twelve, Karl Chanel, House of Holland, Lagerfeld and Rue de Mail.

The reason for Dree’s success was adequately explained by Ferrés’ creative directors Tommasso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, when they said they choose her so to portray “the free and fearless nature of an utterly feminine woman”.

Not only is she undeniably beautiful, her personal style makes her stand apart from the rest. Her Parisian natured wardrobe has been tainted with traces from her years in California. Her casual yet chic outfit choices have resulted in her being noticed by, not only by modelling agencies and therefore designers, but also individuals looking for inspiration. She has said that she views Edie Sedgewick in Ciao Manhattan as an influence in her personal style.

Why do we love her? Not only does she make jeans and an oversized shirt look god damn sexy, she is able to pull it off with little make up and big healthy hair. Her style oozes confidence. She is the model at the moment to watch as her looks are achievable by most and she pulls off everything with an “I don’t care what you think” methodology. She is a natural beauty and has attitude and that’s why I think she is definitely the model of the moment.
